Package and Ship Orders with Me! Small Business Vlog
Package and ship orders with me for my small business in today's vlog! My e-commerce brand Joiful Bee receives around 50-100 orders a day. This is a typical day of packaging and shipping orders for my online business. We always start out with printing the labels with our Rollo printer, taping and labeling the boxes and finally doing a drop off at UPS. Typically, I am not involved in the daily shipping because I work full time and the team handles the packaging and shipping. I decided to get my hands dirty and show you a day in the life of a small business owner in today's vlog!
Hey guys, it's Joi here, and today I'm showing you the behind-the-scenes of my e-commerce business Joiful Bee and how we pack and ship our orders. Let's get started.
Right now, I'm about to print out the labels for today. We have about 60 to 70 orders that we're going to fulfill today. I'm just going to go to my Shopify store and print out the labels that we need. I'm going to show you how we do that with our thermal label printer. Right now, I'm in the back end of my Shopify store, and I'm going to blur out customer information, so you can't see that. But usually, I like to sort the orders from lowest price to highest price because that's the easiest way for me to differentiate what each order is. And I know what orders are certain price or one item. So I print them out by what they are, so we can easily fulfill those orders. So with Shopify, you just hit create shipping labels, and then you can purchase the labels you need for the order. You can also choose the date you're going to send it out, and then you can choose your package type and weight, which you will automatically populate if you have your products set correctly. I'm sending them out today, and I need to print out four labels. Once again, I just put them out by the order type. So at Joiful Bee, we have the Wash Day Kit and The Expansion Pack, and some people order both. So these labels are for
people who order just an Expansion Pack.
Then I'm going to print the labels on my Thermal Label Printer. I'll have it linked down below so you can easily find it and the labels we use. But this is the Rolo printer, it needs absolutely no ink, which is why it is fabulous and has a 4x6 paper size. It's small, it plugs right into the wall, and you use a USB. Just plug it into your computer, and it prints out fast. I usually get my labels from Amazon, but Uline also has them. Now we have the labels printed out, and I'm just going to put them in a little baggie to make so we organized what the orders are. Now we can pack the orders.
This is where we keep all of the Wash Day Kits. They're pre-packaged in these boxes, which makes filling orders so much easier. And then the Expansion Packs are here. So we're going to get to packing and getting all these orders out. After that, we got to go to UPS and drop these off.
Everything has been dropped off at UPS.
