How I Spent 3 Days in Amsterdam for the First Time
We arrived in Amsterdam Thursday night and took an Uber to our hostel Meininger Amsterdam City West. The hostel is one of the nicest I've been to because it is a hotel and each room has a private bathroom. We stayed in a 4 person room. The hostel is also right next to the train station to take to the airport and the city in like 10 minutes. Friday, we went into the city and explored Amsterdam! We wanted to visit the Ann Frank Museum, but it was sold out for MONTHS. We decided to get the Amsterdam Pass (be aware that there are like three variations of this), and this allowed us to go into multiple museums and do some food tasting. We even got free tickets to the Heineken Experience, which I recommend! In March, the weather was SUPER COLD dress warm in layers and brought a coat, scarf, gloves, etc. I liked the city because it was very active and full of young people. There are tons of "cafes," and we did a walk through the red light district at night to see what it was all about. I opted out of going out at night to a party because it was just way too cold. We also made a short day trip to Amsterdam tulip gardens or the Keukenhof, which was nice. This is an hour drive from the city but was a great chance to be in nature for a little bit.
